This package includes eight nights of lodging and will take you to the most important places in the western, southern, central, and cultural triangle regions. You will have the opportunity to participate in sightseeing activities, such as rock climbing and hiking, as well as whale watching tours and wildlife safaris. Day 01

Airport to Negombo

When you arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, a representative from Ceylon Classic Tours will greet you and serve as your chauffeur for the popular 9-day tour of Sri Lanka. Your first destination will be Negombo, a city located in close proximity to the airport. Negombo, a multireligious and multiethnic city, boasts several beautiful beaches. As per our Sri Lanka 9-day itinerary, you will spend your first night at the Negombo Hotel.

Day 02

Negombo to Sigiriya

After enjoying a healthy breakfast, you will be driven from Negombo to Sigiriya. On the way, we will stop at Dambulla for you to visit the Dambulla Cave Temple. This ancient monastery boasts many caves, but the five major ones are the main attraction. Inside these caves, you can see ancient paintings and many strata.

Later, you will be taken directly to your hotel in Sigiriya, where you will have the opportunity to rest and relax. In the evening, you will be driven to climb the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress. When you reach the top of the rock, you will be able to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the town and the beautiful sunset. The rock fortress was built by King Kashyapa during his regime in the 5th century AD. The architecture, water technology, urban technology, paintings, and the mirror wall are all things that will leave you in awe. You will have an excellent opportunity to capture many interesting and wonderful photos during your visit.

Day 03

Sigiriya to Polonnaruwa

On the third day of your trip, you will be taken to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, where you can explore the ruins left by the Chola Dynasty. Polonnaruwa was the second kingdom in Sri Lanka’s history. It was active from the 10th to the 11th century AD. Visitors can see many ancient stupas, buildings, ruins, and monasteries.

After exploring the ruins, we will enjoy a delicious Sri Lankan rice and curry meal. Following lunch, we will embark on a safari to Minneriya National Park, a well-known wildlife sanctuary in Sri Lanka where you can see a variety of animals. The park is particularly famous for gathering Sri Lankan elephants in the dry season. Visitors can witness 100-200 groups of wild animals together near the Minneriya Tank. This is considered the largest elephant gathering in Asia.

After the safari, we will return to your hotel in Sigiriya for the night.

Day 04

Sigiriya to Kandy

We will start our day with a tasty breakfast at the Kandy Hotel, and then head to Kandy city. On the way, we’ll visit the Matale spice garden and other interesting places. The spice garden is home to a variety of spices that grow in Sri Lankan soil.

Once we arrive in Kandy, before checking into your hotel, you’ll have the chance to visit the famous Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya. The Royal Botanical Garden boasts nearly 4,000 species of plants and is a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery.

After the tour, we’ll head to your hotel in Kandy for dinner and an overnight stay

Day 05

Kandy to Ella through Nuwara Eliya

After a sumptuous breakfast, you will have the opportunity to visit the heart of Kandy City. We will first visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic. It is a world-renowned place and a significant place for Buddhists all around the globe. The temple is the resting place of Lord Buddha’s left canine. Next, we will visit Kandy Lake and Kandy View Point.

Thereafter, you will be driven to Nuwara Eliya. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to see some beautiful waterfalls, tea plantations, and a tea factory. We will visit a tea factory and its estate to look after the processing of the famous Ceylon tea. Next, we will visit a few places in Nuwara Eliya according to the remaining time.

If a train is available when you reach Nanu Oya Railway Station, then you will be able to travel to Ella by train, giving you a great opportunity to view some beautiful and breathtaking scenery. The driver will then meet you at the Ella Railway Station. If not, you will be driven to Ella in your default vehicle. You will next check into your hotel in Ella to finish the 5th day of your 9 day Sri Lanka itinerary.

Day 06

Ella to Tissamaharama

After a delightful breakfast, the plan is to leave a little earlier. You will be driven to see the Nine Arch Bridge and Little Adams Peak. The Nine Arch Bridge was constructed by the British in the early 20th century using zero metal. Little Adams Peak is a small mountain that takes around an hour to hike. Afterward, the journey will continue to Tissamaharama, where you will have the opportunity to go on a safari tour at the famous Yala National Park. Along the way, you will stop for a few minutes near a waterfall called “Ravana Ella”. Once you arrive at the hotel, you can have lunch and prepare for the safari tour. After an amazing safari ride, you will be driven back to your hotel, where you can rest at your leisure. You will spend the night in Tissamaharama.

Day 07

Tissamaharama to Mirissa Beach

After a good breakfast, you will be driven to Mirissa according to our Sri Lanka 9-Day Itinerary. Once in Mirissa, you will check into a hotel and spend the night there. Before arriving at the Mirissa Hotel, we will visit Mirissa Beach and Coconut Tree Hills.

Day 08

Mirissa Beach stay

We have arranged for you to go on a whale-watching tour in the morning as per your request. The tour will take you to the Indian Ocean where you can observe marine wildlife and many different whales and dolphins. Once you return from the tour, you can spend some relaxing time at the hotel’s private beach. You will be staying at the same hotel in Mirissa for the night.

Day 09

Mirissa to Airport

There are no plans for the day’s itinerary. After a delightful breakfast at the hotel, you will depart for Bandaranaike International Airport, ensuring you arrive at least 2-3 hours before your flight’s scheduled departure time. This marks the end of your wonderful 9-day tour in Sri Lanka.
